Environmental Science: Species
Summary...In Lake Tahoe a gigantic goldfish was found that was nearly 1.5 feet long and 4.2 pounds. Goldfish are a invasive species and could possibly disrupt Lake Tahoe's ecosystem considering. Scientists believe that someone might have dumped aquarium fish into the lake. They are still not sure on how many goldfish are in the lake or whether or not they were introduced has big or small. Aquarium dumping is known in the United States but it has take a toll on the native wildlife in marine ecosystems. There are other ways that invasive species find their way into natural ecosystems including aquaculture, live seafood, live bait, and fishing.

Reflection...I find it very sad how people will just dump their aquarium fish. I admit it is super cool how there is a gigantic goldfish in a lake but then again it can be very harmful to native fish and the goldfish can thrive on its own in an aquarium without a lake. People should be more informed about human pollution going on and its effect on the ecosystem along with prevention.
